For 7 days, our retreat travel family will leave the fast pace of the world we know behind and exchange it for lush jungle and oceanside accommodations in the rustic Canto Leela Eco Bungalows. Our group will be the sole residence on this property during our stay, providing an intimate and tranquil container for our time together

Here, where the jungle meets the ocean, we can really feel free, let our hair down and soak up the abundant nectars of life. We will be surrounded by the whispers of the trees, the waves, and the immense energy of life pulsating in every direction. As tension recedes, ease effortlessly rises to the surface, like the tides of the ocean, allowing us to drift back into the comforting currents of nature and embody flow.

Let your nervous system settle and enjoy the luxuries of a truly stunning beach just steps outside of your jungle bungalow, delicious organic food catered to your dietary needs, relaxation, rejuvenation, being with others you can relate with, and letting your a to-do list become a distant memory.

Be transformed with the remarkable opportunity to get in touch with your wild, raw nature in an immersive experience with indigenous people from the Amazon who are coming especially to meet our group to build a bridge between worlds on their mission to share the messages and medicines of the forest.

Be nourished and enriched by the elegant qualities of water, unique cultural experiences, and deeply integrating practices of yoga nidrā.
With a full cup, a clear mind and a happy heart, you will be a walking vessel full of the flowing waters of vibrant life to share when you return home from this potent experience.

Can you feel the buzzing energy of the jungle, the tides of the ocean, and the cascading waterfalls waiting for you to come melt into their embrace?

Can you taste the fresh fruits, the coconuts, the cacao, the vibrant living food all ripe for picking?

Can you hear the distant whale song calling you from the arctic waters to come meet them when they journey to the warm waters of Brazil in July?

Why a yoga nidrā retreat?

A yoga nidrā retreat can offer numerous benefits for participants seeking relaxation, rejuvenation, and self-discovery. Reasons why someone might choose to attend a yoga nidrā retreat might include:

  1. Stress Reduction: Yoga nidrā, also known as yogic sleep, is a deeply relaxing practice that can help reduce stress, anxiety, and tension. A retreat provides an opportunity to immerse oneself fully in this practice, away from the distractions and pressures of daily life.

  2. Deep Relaxation: Yoga nidrā induces a state of profound relaxation, often deeper than conventional sleep. A retreat setting allows participants to fully experience and explore this relaxation without interruptions, leading to a greater sense of calm and well-being.

  3. Mind-Body Connection: Yoga nidrā encourages a deep connection between the mind and body, facilitating inner awareness and introspection. Retreat participants can delve into this connection more deeply through guided practices and teachings, gaining insights into their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.

  4. Healing and Restoration: The deep relaxation and meditative state induced by yoga nidrā can support the body's natural healing processes. A retreat provides a conducive environment for restorative practices, allowing participants to replenish their energy reserves and promote overall well-being.

  5. Self-Exploration: Yoga nidrā can be a powerful tool for self-exploration and personal growth. In a retreat setting, participants have the time and space to reflect on their life's direction, goals, and values, gaining clarity and insight into themselves.

  6. Community and Support: Retreats often foster a sense of community and support among participants who share a common interest in yoga and mindfulness practices. This sense of belonging can enhance the retreat experience, providing opportunities for connection, shared learning, and mutual encouragement.

  7. Nature and Retreat Setting: This retreat will be held in a tranquil natural setting in the forest and by the sea. Being surrounded by nature can enhance the sense of relaxation and connection, allowing participants to immerse themselves fully in the retreat experience.

Overall, a yoga nidrā retreat offers a holistic approach to relaxation, self-care, and personal growth, making it an appealing choice for those seeking to nourish their mind, body, and spirit.

The supportive element of  water

Water has a remarkable ability to settle the nervous system and promote healing. When we immerse ourselves in water, whether through swimming, bathing, or simply being near a body of water, it can induce a state of deep relaxation. The soothing properties of water help to calm the nervous system, reduce stress hormones, and alleviate tension in muscles and joints. The rhythmic sound of water, such as waves lapping or a gentle waterfall, can have a meditative effect, further promoting relaxation and mental clarity. This calming influence on the nervous system allows the body's natural healing processes to activate, helping to bring about physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Whether it's the tranquility of a cascading waterfall or the therapeutic warmth of a cleansing herbal bath, water has a profound capacity to soothe the mind, restore balance, and promote overall health.

About Bahia, Brazil

Bahia, located in the northeastern region of Brazil, is a captivating state known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and stunning natural beauty. With its diverse landscapes ranging from golden sandy beaches to lush rainforests and historic colonial towns, Bahia offers a unique blend of experiences for travelers.

The state's unique cultural heritage, influenced by African, Indigenous, and Portuguese traditions, infuses every aspect of life in Bahia, from its cuisine to its music and religious practices. Visitors can indulge in mouthwatering dishes, immerse themselves in the rhythms of Bahian music, and witness spectacular displays of Afro-Brazilian dance and spirituality.

Beyond its cultural allure, Bahia boasts some of Brazil's most breathtaking natural landscapes, including pristine beaches, verdant rainforests, and cascading waterfalls. Travelers are spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor adventures and sightseeing opportunities. This particular time of year the whales have made their annual pilgrimage from Antarctica to the warm waters of Bahia to calf their young, carrying with them a sense of awe and mystery from the majestic depths of arctic waters.

Moreover, Bahia's warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the hospitality of its people, creates an inviting environment for visitors seeking an authentic and enriching travel experience. Whether you're drawn to its cultural vibrancy, natural beauty, or historical significance, Bahia offers an unforgettable journey through the heart and soul of Brazil.

For the life-loving, compassionate, adventurous souls who will be with us in Bahia, we are really excited to invite three very special guests to join us from deep within the Amazon jungle to share their wisdom with us in a cultural exchange. The intention is for us to hear important messages from deep within the Amazon jungle, commonly referred to as the lungs of the earth, and carry them far and wide. We also intend to feel the powerful, immense joy and celebration these people carry. We will hear stories and songs, dance, receive cleansing herbal baths, paint our bodies with sacred designs inspired by the elements in nature, learn about the plant medicines of the forest, and much more.

The Huni Kuin, also known as the Kaxinawá, are an indigenous tribe living primarily in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, particularly in the state of Acre. They are one of the largest indigenous groups in the Brazilian Amazon and are known for their rich cultural heritage, deep spiritual connection to the land, and traditional knowledge of the forest.

The Huni Kuin have a strong bond with nature and consider the forest to be sacred, viewing themselves as guardians of the land. Their way of life is deeply intertwined with the rhythms of the rainforest, and they rely on sustainable hunting, fishing, and agriculture for their subsistence.

Central to Huni Kuin culture is their spiritual practices, which often involve the use of sacred plants in traditional ceremonies. These ceremonies play a crucial role in maintaining harmony with the natural world, healing community members, and passing down ancestral knowledge from generation to generation.

Despite facing challenges such as deforestation, encroachment on their land, and loss of cultural heritage, the Huni Kuin continue to resist and preserve their traditional way of life. Through initiatives focused on cultural revitalization, sustainable development, and advocacy for indigenous rights, they strive to protect their ancestral lands and ensure the survival of their unique culture for future generations.

To clarify what "shared single/double room" means... the accommodations are set up in such a way that there are multiple rooms in a couple of the bungalows, however to get to one room with two beds, you have to walk through a room with one bed to get there. This makes the "single" room not totally single or private, as there will be two other people needing to pass through the single room to get to their room, and you will be sharing a bathroom. Hence the term "shared single/double room". The only totally private room currently available is the entire private bungalow, which has a private bathroom as well. If you feel a private single room is a deal breaker for you, please reach out and we can discuss some potential creative options.

This unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has been designed with love, meticulous attention to detail, and sincere commitment. We, your dream team facilitators, take great care to live in integrity by our values; some of these values are our time, our experience and wisdom, our own flourishing and livelihood, the flourishing and livelihood of our indigenous friends and the amazon jungle at large, and YOUR flourishing and livelihood. Our prices reflect ALL of these values and much more. Please only apply for a scholarship if you could not otherwise come, and please always reach out for clarifications when needed! Thank you and we are so excited to share this incredible adventure with you, our cherished travel family!
